Written in 430 B.C.,
this classic Greek Tragedy which represents the beginning
of organized theatrical activity as we know it today, opens
the Fowler Center Theatre with a riveting interpretation.
Oedipus becomes king of Thebes after unwittingly killing his
father and marrying his mother, thus fullfilling a phrophecy.
He eventually discovers what he has done, blinds himself,
and is exiled. "...a spectacle of tragic proportions."
